Who Am I?
Exploring the Five Aggregates

An Online Study and Practice Group
5 Tuesdays, January 13–February 10, 2026
6:30–8 p.m.

Buddhism teaches that what we call “self” is not a fixed thing but a flowing process made up of five aggregates: form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness. Modern neuroscience increasingly supports this view. Brain and body studies show that our experience arises from a dynamic process that continuously changes from moment to moment.

This five-week course explores the five aggregates through both Buddhist teachings and neuroscientific insights. We'll learn how they shape our experience of the world and our sense of ourselves — manifesting as thoughts, emotions, habits, and reactions. We'll also discover practical ways to work with the aggregates to find greater freedom and clarity in daily life.

New Year Retreat

January 17, 2026, 12-5 p.m.
Farmington, Conn.

The beginning of the new year is a wonderful time to pause, go within, and cultivate renewed presence and intention. In this half-day silent retreat, we’ll open our hearts and minds through meditation alternating with mindful walking and a period of qigong. The afternoon will begin with a dharma talk and conclude with sharing, tea, and an optional potluck.

Community member Patricia Reville has offered her private yoga studio for this special event. With ridge-line views of the Farmington River Flats, the setting alone is sure to inspire.

This retreat is for newcomers to meditation as well as seasoned practitioners. Please register early as space is limited!
