New Year Retreat

January 17, 2026, 12-5 p.m.
In person, Farmington, Conn.

The start of the year is a perfect time to pause, turn inward, and renew a sense of presence and intention. Join us for this half-day silent retreat when we'll nurture calm and awareness through meditation, mindful walking, and intentional movement. The afternoon begins with a dharma talk and ends with sharing and an optional potluck.

We are grateful to community member Patricia Reville for hosting this special event in her private yoga studio. With ridge-line views of the Farmington River Flats, the setting alone is sure to inspire.

This retreat is for newcomers to meditation as well as seasoned practitioners. Please register early as space is limited!

Who Am I?
Exploring the Five Aggregates

An Online Study and Practice Group
5 Tuesdays, January 20–February 17, 2026
6:30–8 p.m.

Buddhism teaches that what we call “self” is not a fixed thing but a flowing process made up of five aggregates: form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness. Interestingly, modern neuroscience increasingly supports this view. Brain and body studies show that our experience arises from a dynamic process that continuously changes from moment to moment.

This five-week course explores the five aggregates through both Buddhist wisdom and contemporary neuroscience. We'll look at how they shape our experience of the world and our sense of ourselves — manifesting as thoughts, emotions, habits, and reactions. We'll also learn practical ways to work with the aggregates to bring greater ease and clarity to daily life.

Enrollment
Enrollment is $85 for the entire program or $20 per session. All are welcome. Prior knowledge of Buddhism is helpful.
